Detroit Bass Day  August 8-9, 2025

Detroit Bass Day is an annual event bringing together Bass Players to create community, celebrate Detroit music, support bass education and provide tribute to the legacy of Motown in making music history.

Hosted by Lola George and Kern Brantley of Kern Brantley and One Band Global, Inc., Bass Day is one of the world's largest and longest running annual Bass event that highlights the role of the acoustic and electric bass in all genres, and the player contributions-especially from Detroit- that have influenced and impacted the world of music today.  On August 9, 2025 nearly 200 bass players and fans, toting their basses, will descend on Motown to celebrate all things bass in the 12th Annual Bass Day.

A tribute to Esther Gordy, Bass Day will feature the following players-

  • Marion Hayden

  • Emily Rogers

  • Brenda Bass

  • Izzy
